6 Weeks Out From My Pro Debut at the WNBF Pro Universe!

This guy made me feel tiny!

It’s been a long time since I’ve shared a progress update! I’ve been training consistently, but my training has changed dramatically over the last 6 months. Ever since shortly after my Men’s Bodybuilding victory in 2013 with Team Plantbuilt I’ve had multiple injuries to work around, which is why I changed to Men’s Physique in 2014 and happily won my WNBF Pro Card in that category. This past Winter I decided to prioritize rehabilitation rather than continue to spin my wheels with normal workouts, and after a long and slow build up I am now mostly back to my regular training, and mostly recovered (not there yet, but close!). I’m not lifting crazy weights or doing long brutal workouts yet, but I am able to do a lot more without pain and there’s light at the end of the tunnel. Physique wise I’m not at my best, but I’m training harder and hope to present a good package at the WNBF Pro Universe in Manhattan on September 19th! Below is a progress shot from earlier today:

If you or anyone you know may be interested in coming to the show to watch, or even compete (there’s an amateur show as well that anyone can enter) please do! This has definitely been my least intense and most unusual contest prep to date, but one valuable lesson I’ve learned that I want to share is There is an exercise or series of exercises that will fix almost any injury. My greatest victory from this experience is that lesson, and my abdominal tear that has hindered me since shortly after our barbarian photo-shoot in 2010 is healed and I can now train abs for the first time in 5 years!

I plan to post more details about what I’ve done to focus on rehab and how of been preparing for this contest, so stay tuned! In the meantime, train hard and eat Beans &  Greens!
