12 Week Champions 2012 – Plant Based Nutrition Wins AGAIN!

As some of you know already, May was officially my last month with Gold’s Gym (although I’m now a member and still train there!) and we are now striking out on our own to do bigger and better things! (More on that in future posts…) BUT, before moving on from Gold’s I did have several clients compete in this years 12 Week Challenge – Gold’s Gym’s annual get-into-shape contest held every January. in case you’ve forgotten, I’ve had an outstanding record of getting people fit and winning this contest using plant-based nutrition in the past, as you can see from the results in 2010 and 2011.  This year was no different! Out of the nine total winners here in Richmond, 3 were my clients – two of which were overall winners for their gender class! A special thanks to Karen Getty (overall female winner), Susan Butterworth, and Todd Berry (overall male winner) for your outstanding effort getting into shape and representing what a plant-based diet can do! Way to rock it! This means out of the past three years, 28 total winners and hundreds and hundreds of contestants for this challenge, 11 have been clients of mine who were following a plant-based diet! There must be something to this…

Karens transformation in just 3 months!

  • Reason I asked...I'm vegan and feel like I'm getting too many carbs and can't shake some stubborn BF. Problem is cutting carbs means I'd have to increase fat or protein..increasing fat is easy, protein from whole foods is a little rougher.

      • My favorite thing about being a plant based athlete: never counting calories or worrying about what to snack on! Green means go!

  • Congrats, you look fantastic! How do you keep up your energy level working out with only plant food? I struggle so much and never feel full every time I try to go veggie.
