Vote This November! …And My Contest Results

It’s almost November and this year I will be competing in Bodybuilding.com’s 2013 Spokesmodel Search! I competed in this online contest in 2010 and made it to the semifinals, so this year I hope to take it ever further and win a trip to compete in person in Los Angeles for the finals! The grand prize winner gets a cover shoot with Iron Man Magazine as well as a full article, and gets to work with Bodybuilding.com at the Arnold Classic and the Olympia – an awesome opportunity! The initial portion of the competition is voting based, and you can vote once per day (repeat voters are appreciated!), so please take some time next month and help me get into the semifinals!

As for my contest… last weekend I competed in the OCB Battle for Tidewater here in Virginia, and while I had a great time and met some talented athletes, I did not do as well as I had hoped. This was an IFPA pro qualifying event so the competition was very stiff, and I did not come in lean enough or time my diet perfectly, so I didn’t look my best. I placed fourth out of five in a tough class so I can’t complain, but I think if I had come in a bit leaner and tighter I could have been battling for second – next time! Nevertheless, it was a great experience and I was able to learn a lot from the athletes around me, just like every show I do.  Experience of any kind is never a waste! Check out the video of prejudging below (Marcella was holding a struggling Miles, so pardon the camera motion!). While at the show I also got to meet and spend time talking with my favorite natural bodybuilder, Doug Miller. This guy has surpassed what just about any drug free bodybuilder can expect to achieve in the sport of bodybuilding, and for that I have a ton of respect for him!

  1. Just a learning experience. Now you know what not to do. You are still an inspiration to vegans in general. Now I am laying the groundwork for my bodybuilding plans. I still meet people who think it is not possible for vegans. We shall see!

  2. Each event is a stepping stone, progressing to your next level. You are progressing just fine!
